As therapists we work with you to help with any underlying emotional, thinking, or behavioral problems that may be interfering with your relationships or ability to function in everyday life. These issues may be due to recent loss, situational problems, traumas, addictitions, or a chemical imbalance.
In depth histories of the problem, family of origin histories, relationship patterns, and educational/work histories are explored. Your weekly self-report of your emotional distress as well as other evaluation tools may be used to monitor your progress. The goals we develop together may be to modify destructive thoughts, change internal emotional distress and pain, and eliminate problematic or compulsive behaviors and those take longer to understand the layers of protection and defenses that have kept these issues going for months or even years.
We look at where these issues began and we tenderly hold the pain as we begin to try out new coping strategies. As therapists we see you as the expert of your own life and we consider it our greatest gift to be asked to join you on your path. We bring to each session our experience and knowledge gained through years of service and our own personal growth, therapy, and paths of self-exploration. Together we work to hold space for whatever you feel comfortable to bring to your sessions.
As therapists in California we are governed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Our practice as psychotherapists are limited geographically and we may only treat clients remotely via Skype, phone or email, who live in California. Additionally, if you are requesting a therapy session over the phone but are severely distressed we will make every effort to assist you in obtaining services in your area. It is important when emotions are raw and you feel at risk that you obtain therapy in person.
Some of our Areas of Specialization Include:
Anxiety, Phobias or Fears

We welcome you to our center and understand the decision you are making to begin counseling is very courageous indeed. Often the initial reason a person enters therapy is that they feel like their life is out of control, no one understands them, and they have run out of options, basically, you start therapy when you feel like you are in a crisis. We know that and can help you develop insights, new strategies and regain that sense of confidence you once had.
We offer individual, couples, and family therapy. We provide you with a safe and supportive environment where you will feel heard, known, and accepted as you are. After our first appointment we will discuss with you what we recommend as far as a treatment plan, taking into consideration all of your concerns and needs.
